MIS market in Wales continues to open up

Arbor have announced that Vale of Glamorgan has chosen the Arbor MIS platform for its 53 schools.

The Vale of Glamorgan’s primary schools, secondary schools and special schools will all move to the Arbor MIS following this win.

Arbor point out that they have been building features specifically tailored for Welsh schools, including:

  • Welsh language in the MIS
  • CTF imports and exports
  • Recording ALN information
  • Qualifications in Wales
  • Support for Welsh statutory returns
  • Integration with Hwb

This win by Arbor continues the opening up of the Welsh MIS market, following on from two other Welsh authorities recently moving MIS to Bromcom.

It seems that the Welsh schools, like their counterparts in the rest of the UK, are serious about reviewing their MIS platforms to ensure that they have the right system for their needs. We will be monitoring this to see if other Welsh authorities will follow suit…
